Choux Secrets and Bake-Off Charm as GBBO’s Maggie Richardson Comes to Wimborne Food Festival

Maggie the Seaside Baker will be returning to the Wimborne Food Festival tent for 2026

Maggie, a retired nurse and midwife, who captured the nation’s hearts on the 2021 series of the hit TV show, will be sharing behind‑the‑scenes stories from her time in the famous Bake Off tent  - from the pressure of technical challenges to the camaraderie that kept contestants going through the heat, the humour and the occasional baking disaster.

Festival‑goers will also be treated to a live demonstration as Maggie reveals her secrets to perfect choux pastry, offering tips techniques and the kind of practical know‑how that made her a fan favourite.

Since her Bake Off journey, Maggie has thrown herself into developing her culinary skills, completing a series of baking and cookery courses across England and Europe. Most recently, she trained at the prestigious Le Cordon Bleu Cookery School in Paris, further refining her craft and deepening her passion for patisserie. She's also built an impressive social media following enchanting fans with her warmth and flavours.

“I’m delighted to be asked back to Wimborne Food Festival,” said Maggie. “It’s such a positive event for the town.”

Wimborne Food Festival brings a free, flavour‑packed celebration of the town’s vibrant food and drink scene. Now in its third year and organised by Wimborne BID with the support of Dacombes of Wimborne, the festival unites local producers, chefs, restaurants, retailers and food lovers for a full day of free tastings, demos and delicious discoveries.

The main festival site is on Willow Walk near Waitrose with events also taking place in East Street, Church Street and Wimborne Square.

The programme also includes acclaimed Dorset chef and restaurateur Colin Nash who will be leading a live cookery demonstration.

The full festival programme, including chef demos, tastings, street food, family activities and local producer showcases will be announced in the coming weeks.
